Here are a couple of general tips for setting up your modeling environment.
Turning (EA)2 On and Off
After installation, (EA)2 will automatically be included in the list of Add-ins. If you want to temporarily turn if off, click on the Add-ins / Manage Add-ins… and then deselect EA2. The next time you start Enterprise Architect, (EA)2 will not be loaded. Do the same procedure, selecting (EA)2 this time to turn it back on.
Setting (EA)2 as the Active Technology
With (EA)2 enabled, you will see it in the list of toolboxes when you click on 'More Tools…' at the top of the Toolbox frame. You can have the EA)2 toolboxes displayed more prominently if you make (EA)2 the active toolbox. You do this by selecting 'Settings / MDG Technologies…', clicking on (EA)2 in the list and then clicking the 'Set Active' active button at the bottom. If you deselect the (EA)2 check box, the (EA)2 toobox will no longer be displayed.
Reference Data
There are number of things that will not be available if you have created your model without using the EA2 BaseModel. For more information about importing reference data see the Reference Data page.
Model Searches and Model Views
Enteprise Architect provides a model search capability that can be used with the Model Views panel to make it easy to find things in your model. You can open the Model Views panel by selecting View | Model Views from the Enterprise Architect main menu. To see more on model searches and model views, go to the Reference Data page.
