Deleting Elements

You can delete elements from a diagram by highlighting the element and then hitting the Delete key. The element is removed from the diagram but not from the project.

To delete an element from the model, highlight it in a diagram or in the browser and then hit Control-Delete. However, before deleting an element from the model, it is good practice to see if it is being used by anything.  You should first check to see if it is on any diagrams or whether it has any links to other elements. To check for diagrams, highlight the element in a diagram or in the project browser and press Control-U. This will either show a possibly empty diagram list or it will take you to the only diagram on which the element is used. To check for links, double click on the element to bring up its property dialog box. Click on the Links tab at the top to see what connections the element has. Sometimes an element has embedded elements, e.g. exposed interfaces or ports, that are linked to other elements. Right click on the exposed interface and select Other Properties, then select the Links tab and do as described above. If there are any links, you can right click on a related element and the chose to find it in the project browser. Once you are satisfied that the element is no longer needed, you can then delete it from the model.
