This user's guide is divided into four chapters and two external items as described below. Examples from the (EA)2 Reference Model used for training purposes are included in the documentation.
Introduction
The Introduction provides an overview of (EA)2, lists the system requirements, discusses how to install and uninstall it, and how to set up your modeling environment.
(EA)2 for Enterprise Architect
The (EA)2 for Enterprise Architect section explains the various (EA)2 modeling tools; namely, the diagram types, toolboxes, quicklinks, as well as some common modeling tasks to help you get started.
(EA)2 for SQL Server
The (EA)2 for SQL Server section discusses the numerous SQL views, user defined functions, and stored procedures that leverage the (EA)2 metamodel to get the most out of the repository. This section will discuss each of these and explain how you can extend them and add new SQL elements to create your own set of reports.
(EA)2 Modeling Approach
The (EA)2 Modeling Approach section explains the concepts behind the (EA)2 approach to modeling architecture. It is the result of on-the-job experiences over the last 20 years working on real solutions while using concepts from the major architectural standards. The approach, including the package structure provided by the (EA)2 Base Model, can be modified to fit your organization's approach to modeling architecture, but we think you will agree that (EA)2 will provide much of what you need right "out of the box."
(EA)2 Reference Model
The (EA)2 Reference Model is the HTML report on a reference model used with OAD's training classes on enterprise architecture and project development.
(EA)2 Video Presentation
The (EA)2 Video Presentation is the video of a presentation Terry Merriman, OAD's CEO and Chief Architect, gave at the IASA ITARCH conference in New York City that includes a live walk-through of the (EA)2 Reference Model.
