An application that provides IT Capabilities. It is modeled as a UML component. IT Apps, along with App Servers, Browsers, DBMSs, and Operating Systems, are collectively referred to as IT Software.

IT Apps are generally purchased from third parties. However, you may develop your own internal IT Apps. If so, you can use the same package structure as with Business Apps. For example, you may need Presentation and Work Session components to configure the IT App and a Service component to provide the capability to the Business Apps.
